Friday, February 27, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 52 offenders at external borders and within the country. 19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, as well as to one citizen of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 15 persons – three citizens of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two – of Estonia, two – of Uzbekistan, two – of Vietnam, one – of Russia, one – of Belarus, one -of India and one – of Pakistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four - of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Ukraine, one – of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Great Britain, one - of Moldova and one – of Finland.
