Thursday, February 26, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 22 offenders at external borders and within the country. 3 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 1 citizen of Latvia wanted by the Police was detected

during the document check at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, a Latvian citizen entered from Sweden, who was wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner

at the Grebņeva Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia due to security reasons. The person was returned to the country of departure.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of India and one – of Russia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, two – of Serbia, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Germany.
