Tuesday, February 24, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 7 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of India, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, two citizens of Latvia leaving the country for Russia, who were not in possession of valid travel documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – five citizens of India, two – of Uzbekistan and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Ukraine, one – of Russia, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova.
