Monday, February 23, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Turkey and one – of India, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; while at the Pāternieki, the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, as well as to one citizen of Moldova, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
one citizen of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the citizen of Kazakhstan was not initiated. The other persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – two citizens of Lithuania, one – of Latvia and one – of China.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Serbia, two – of Latvia, two – of Belarus, two – of Moldova, two – of Romania, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one - of Lithuania and one – of Kyrgyzstan.
