Sunday, February 22, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 24 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders. Including, that entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners. At the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of Kazakhstan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay;
as well as to one citizen of Belarus and one – of Uzbekistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Lithuania and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Romania, one – of Finland, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
