Saturday, February 21, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 7 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Russia leaving the country, who presented to border guards a forged Russian Technical Inspection Certificate, was detected. Person held administratively liable. The Technical Inspection Certificate was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 3 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Great Britain, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; while at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia
due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Azerbaijan was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons – four citizens of Estonia, one – of Belarus, one – of Moldova and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Lithuania, one – of Armenia, one – of Moldova, one – of Romania and one – of Serbia.
