On Monday, February 16, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, two - of Belarus, one – of Germany, one – of Bulgaria and one – of Kazakhstan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Tajikistan, one – of Russia and one – of Turkey were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 citizens of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Lithuania, three - of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Bosnia and Hercegovina, one – of Kazakhstan, one - of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan.
