On Friday, February 13, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 29 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners  

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Tajikistan, one – of Turkey and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay and to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; while at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova and one - of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

two citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Great Britain and one – of Russia were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were held administratively reliable.  

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia leaving the country for Egypt, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Lithuania, two - of Belarus, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Mongolia, one – of Romania and one – of Uzbekistan.
