On Wednesday, February 11, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2 persons have been stopped this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 22 offenders at external borders and within the country. 8 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners  

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia and one - of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia leaving the country for Great Britain, whose travel documents were not valid for travel to Great Britain, were detected. The persons were prohibited to leave the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 citizens of China.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens Kazakhstan, two – of Romania, two – of Serbia, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one - of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one - of Lithuania and one – of Moldova.
