On Saturday, September 7 State Border Guard officers at the external border and inside the country detected 39 offenders.

At the external border 30 offenders were detected, including:

• 10 foreigners were refused to entry Latvia

At Terehova, Grebneva and "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 4 citizens of Russia were refused to entry Latvia on the purpose of lack of valid visa or residence permit, at Paternieki and "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 4 citizens of Ukraine were refused to entry Republic of Latvia, because persons were not able to justify the purpose of his/her intended stay and didn't have sufficient means of subsistence for visiting Schengen member states, at Terehova and Paternieki Border Control Points, in its part, 3 citizens of Georgia and one citizen of Moldova were refused to enter Latvia on the reason that persons had an alert issued for him/her in the Schengen information system (SIS) for the purpose of refusing entry. All persons were returned to the country of departure.

• 6 overstayers were detected

At Terehova, Zilupe, Paternieki and "Riga" Airport Border Control Points were detected 4 citizens of Russia, 1 citizen of Tajikistan and 1 citizen of Ukraine who overstayed the permitted stay (violation of permitted amount of days defined in visa, absence of valid visa or residence permit, violation of permitted stay of visa free regime) on the territory of Schengen states. Persons were subjected to administrative processing.

• 1 non-citizen of Latvia was refused to exit the country

At "Riga" Airport Border Control Point one non-citizen of Latvia was detected with travel document which is not valid for travelling outside the territory of Schengen zone. Person was refused to exit Latvia.

Operating Immigration control inside the country 4 persons were detected who violated entry or residence regime: 3 citizens of Estonia and 1 citizen of Lithuania.

State Border Guard officials detected 5 persons who violated exploiting of vehicles and vessels: 3 Russian citizens, 1 citizen of Moldova and 1 Estonian citizen.
