On Thursday, 18 October, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 39 offenders.

At the external borders 22 offenders were detected, including:

Entry to Latvia was denied to 11 foreigners

At Terehova Border Control Point entry to the country was denied to 1 citizen of Russia as the foreigner did not have valid visa or residence permit, meanwhile at Grebņeva, Pāternieku and "Riga" airport Border Control Points entry to the country was denied to 1 citizen of Belorussia, 6 citizens of Ukraine and 1 citizen of Moldova as the foreigners were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay. Entry to Latvia was also denied to 1 citizen of USA, as the foreigner had already stayed 90 days from the last period of 180 days in the territory of Schengen states, and to 1 citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner had a ban of entering and residing in the territory of Schengen states. All persons were returned to the country of departure.

Breach of the stay requirements identified to 4 foreigners:

At Pāternieku and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Ukraine, 1 citizen of Moldova, 1 citizen of Kazakhstan and 1 citizen of Uzbekistan were detected; they all had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (exceeded period stated in visa, exceeded period of visa-free regime). Persons were subjected to administrative liability.

Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 6 persons - 3 citizens of Estonia, 1 of Iraq, 1 of Russia and 1 of USA.

On infringements in the field of vehicle and vessels operations, the State Border Guard officials have called for administrative liability 11 persons - 4 citizens of Belorussia, 1 of Russia, 2 of Kyrgyzstan, 2 of Lithuania, 1 of Ukraine and 1 of Estonia.
