On Tuesday, 16 October, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 34 offenders.

At the external borders 20 offenders were detected, including:

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point detected 1 citizen of Latvia traveling from London, who was in the police search. Man, born in 1973, was detained and handed over to the State Police officials.

Entry to Latvia was denied to 4 foreigners

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point entry to the country was denied to 1 citizen of Azerbaijan as the foreigner did not have valid visa or residence permit. Meanwhile at Pāternieki Border Control Point entry to the country was denied to 3 citizens of Ukraine as the foreigners were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

Breach of the stay requirements identified to 4 foreigners:

At Terehova and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia and 2 citizens of Uzbekistan were detected who had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (did not have valid visa or residency permit, exceeded period stated in visa). Administrative proceedings in administrative violation case were not initiated to 1 citizen of Russia and 1 citizen of Uzbekistan, other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 3 persons - 1 citizen of Lithuania, 1 of Belorussia and 1 of Russia.

On infringements in the field of vehicle and vessels operations, the State Border Guard officials have called for administrative liability 11 persons - 5 citizens of Latvia, 2 of Belorussia, 1 of Russia, 1 of Lithuania, 1 of Ukraine and 1 of Estonia.
