Events at the state border and within the country - June 22, 2019

On Saturday the 22nd of June, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 47 offenders at external borders and within the country.

25 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

1 non-citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained

While carrying out profiling of passengers at the Riga Passenger Port 1 non-citizen of Latvia entered from Sweden, who is on the Police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1977, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

5 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 3 citizens of Ukraine were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states; and 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period; and 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 7 foreigners

At the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points 6 citizens of Russia and 1 - of Kazakhstan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 5 citizens of Ukraine was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

2 citizens of Latvia were refused exit from the country

At the Silene Border Control Point 2 citizens of Latvia, who were not in possession of valid travel document, were detected. The persons were refused exit from Latvia.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 8 persons - 5 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of India and 1 - of Ukraine, as well as 1 stateless person of Estonia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Latvia, 4 - of Russia, 2 - of Ukraine, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Kazakhstan.
