On Thursday, 24 July State Border Guard officials at the external border within the country detected 49 offenders

At the external border 34 offenders were detected, including:

• Detained one citizen of Latvia in search

One Latvian citizen arriving by ferry from Sweden, who is in search of the police, was found in the port of Ventspils while checking passenger lists. Man was detained and handed over to the State Police officials.

• Entry into Latvia was denied to 18 foreigners

At Teherovas, Silenes, Pāternieku and "Riga" airport Border Control Points entry to the country was denied 7 Russian and 1 Belorussian citizen, because they had not have valid visa or residence permit. 2 Ukraine and 2 Kirghizstan citizens, because they were not able to justify the purpose of staying, and 6 Ukraine citizens, because they had not have sufficient live hood for visiting Schengen countries. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

• Breach of stay requirements identified to 2 foreigners

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point detected 1 Russian and 1 Azerbaijani national, which was violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (didn't have valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the stay period indicated in visa). Against to Azerbaijani national the decision to initiate administrative proceeding is taken LAPK 238.1 article within the time limit. The Russian citizen were called to the administrative liability.

Immigration control measure inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 3 people - 2 Lithuanian and 1 Estonian citizen.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operations, the State Border Guard officials detected offenses committed by 12 people - 3 Russian, 3 Belorussian, 2 Latvian, 2 Lithuanian, 1 Estonian and 1 Polish citizen.
