On Friday the 16th of February, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia, entered from London and who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The woman, born in 1995, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Uzbekistan was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit and 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country, as well as 1 citizen of Canada was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. The persons were returned to the exit countries.At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Russia (woman), who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), was detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of Russia was not commenced.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 11 persons - 6 citizens of Lithuania, 3 - of Russia, 1 - of Latvia and 1 person without a certain nationality.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Russia, 2 of Belarus, 2 - of Latvia, 1 - of Azerbaijan, 1 - of Kirgizstan and 1 - of German.
