On Monday the 16th of December, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 43 offenders at external borders and within the country.

30 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

2 citizens of Latvia, who are on the police wanted list, were detained

At the Riga Passenger Port and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered the country from Sweden and another citizen of Latvia, entered the country from Dublin, who are on the Police wanted list, were detected. The men, born in 1979 and 1978, were detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

7 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Armenia, 1 - of Tajikistan and 1 - of Uzbekistan were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as 3 citizens of Georgia were refused entry into the country, as the foreigners have a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. While at the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into the country, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 10 foreigners

At the Terehova and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Tajikistan, 4 - of Uzbekistan, 2 - of Kazakhstan, 2 - of Columbia and 1 - of Russia, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, exceeded the period of stay of the visa-free regime), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 3 persons - 2 citizens of Estonia and 1 - of Latvia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 10 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused to cross the border by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Belarus, 2 - of Estonia, 1 - of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Kazakhstan.
