On Monday the 20th of August, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 36 offenders at external borders and within the country.

19 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

3 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Port of Ventspils 2 citizens of India were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of New Zealand was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. Regarding the citizens of India, a letter of guarantee has been taken from the master of the vessel that the men will not get off the vessel, while the citizen of New Zealand was returned to the exit country.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 6 foreigners

At the Zilupe, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Ukraine, 3 - of Kazakhstan and 1 - of Norway, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. Record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by 3 citizens of Kazakhstan and 1 - of Norway was not commenced, the other persons were subject to administrative liability.

2 citizens of Latvia were refused exit from the country

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 citizens of Latvia, who were not in possession of valid travel document, were detected. The persons were refused exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 6 persons - 3 citizens of Russia, 2 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Ukraine.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 5 citizens of Russia, 3 - of Latvia, 2 - of Belarus and 1 - of Lithuania.
