Events at the state border and within the country - August 18, 2018

On Saturday the 18th of August, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country.

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from Aberdeen, who is on the police wanted list, was detected. The man, born in 1994, was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.

At the Silene and the Pāternieki Border Control Points 1 citizen of Ukraine and 1 - of Russia were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, as well as 2 Ukrainian citizens were refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and they were not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Chine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period. While at the Port of Ventspils 1 citizen of Ukraine (a crew member) was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. As for the Ukrainian citizen, a letter of guarantee has been taken from the master of the vessel that the man will not get off the vessel during the vessel stay at the Port of Ventspils; the other persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 5 foreigners

At the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Silene, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 2 citizens of Russia, 2 - of Ukraine and 1 - of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia (female), who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was refused exit from country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 3 citizens of Lithuania and 2 - of Ukraine.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 6 citizens of Belarus, 5 - of Latvia, 3 - of Russia, 1 - of German, 1 - of Lithuania and 1 - of Estonia.
