On Thursday the 16th of August, 2018 the State Border Guard's officials detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country.

22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

4 foreigners were refused entry into Latvia

At the Silene Border Control Point 1 citizen of Belarus was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states. While at the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has resided on the territory of Schengen member states for 90 days within the previous 180-day period and 1 citizen of Georgia was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner has a ban to enter into and stay in the territory of the Schengen Area. The persons were returned to the exit countries.

Violations of resident conditions were detected to 4 foreigners

At the Terehova and the Silene Border Control Points 3 citizens of Russia and 1 - of Belarus, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa), were detected. The persons were subject to administrative liability.

2 Latvian citizens were refused exit from Latvia

At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 2 minor citizens of Latvia, who were not in possession of notarially certified agreement of the parents for their independent travelling outside Latvia, were detected. The persons were refused exit from country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 9 persons - 6 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Ukraine, 1 - of Moldova and 1 - of Russia.

For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 10 citizens of Russia, 3 - of Latvia, 2 - of Belarus, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Ukraine and 1 - of German.
