On Thuesday, 9 August, officials of the State Border Guard at the external borders and within the country detected 45 offenders.

At the external borders 19 offenders were detected, including:

Detected 2 persons with forged documents

At Zilupes Border Control Point detected 1 citizen of Iraq entering Latvia by train who presented forged passport of Guatemala , meanwhile at Grebņeva Border Control Point detected 1 citizen of Latvia departing form Latvia by car who presented forged Russian vehicle insurance policy. On both occasions criminal proceedings have been initiated on the use of false documents.

Detained 1 citizen of Latvia in search

At "Riga" airport Border Control Point detected 1 citizen of Latvia arriving from London, who was in police search. Man, born in 1990, was detained and handed over to the State Police officials.

Entry into Latvia was denied to 3 foreigners

At Pāternieku and "Riga" airport Border Control Points entry to the country was denied to 3 citizens of Ukraine as the foreigners were not able to justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay and did not have sufficient livelihoods for visiting Schengen countries. Persons were returned to the country of departure.

Breach of the stay requirements identified to 5 foreigners:

At Terehovas and "Riga" airport Border Control Points 4 citizens of Russia and 1 of Kyrgyzstan were detected who had violated residence regulations in the territory of Schengen states (did not have valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the stay period indicated in visa). Administrative proceedings in administrative violation case were not initiated to 1 citizen of Russia, other persons were subjected to administrative liability.

Immigration control measures inside the country, violations of entry or stay regulations were detected to 12 persons - 6 citizens of Ukraine, 3 of Lithuania, 1 of Russia, 1 of Estonia and 1 of Turkey.

Within the framework of vehicles and vessels operation, the State Border Guard officials detected offenses committed by 14 persons - 4 citizens of Russia, 3 of Lithuania, 3 of Latvia, 2 of Belorussia, 1 of Uzbekistan and 1 of Malta.
