On Tuesday the 16th of April, 2019 the State Border Guard's officials detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• A citizen of Latvia, who is on the police wanted list, was detained
At the "Riga" Airport Border Control Point 1 citizen of Latvia entered Latvia from London, who is on the Police wanted list in order to ensure the execution of a criminal punishment related to deprivation of liberty, was detected. The man was detained and handed over to the State Police officers.
• A foreigner was refused entry into Latvia
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point 1 citizen of Ukraine was refused entry into Latvia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry into and stay in the country and he was not in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to visit the Schengen states.
• Violations of resident conditions were detected to 3 foreigners
At the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the "Riga" Airport Border Control Points 1 citizen of Russia, 1 - of Belarus and 1 - of Uzbekistan, who violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen states (exceeded the period of stay laid down in a visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit), were detected. The citizens of Russia and Uzbekistan were subject to administrative liability, record-keeping regarding administrative violations committed by the citizen of Belarus was not commenced.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country violations of entry or residence conditions were detected to 5 persons - 3 citizens of Lithuania, 1 - of Latvia and 1 - of Russia.
For violation of terms and conditions in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels 8 persons were subjected to administrative liability by officials of the State Boarder Guard of Latvia - 4 citizens of Latvia, 1 - of Lithuania, 1 - of Belarus, 1 - of Bulgaria and 1 - of Azerbaijan.
