On Sunday, June 8, border guards in Rucava Parish, South Kurzeme Municipality, detected a Lithuanian citizen armed with a Glock 19 pistol loaded with live rounds, as well as a cold weapon.

During immigration control, based on information received from the State Police, border guards stopped a Ford Mustang vehicle for inspection on highway A11 Liepāja–Lithuanian border, which was driven by a Lithuanian citizen. The border guards noticed that the person was very nervous, so they directed the vehicle for a more thorough inspection. During the detailed examination, a black men's handbag was found on the person, which contained an object resembling a pistol. When presenting the handbag to the border guards, the person placed the object resembling a pistol under his armpit with the barrel pointing downwards.

The border guards seized the object resembling a pistol and found it to be a Glock 19 pistol with 13 live rounds (one in the chamber). Additionally, two knuckles were found in the vehicle and were seized.

The person with the pistol, knuckles and vehicle was handed over to the State Police for further proceedings.
