On Tuesday, December 9, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11921 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 31 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 citizen of Latvia wanted by the Police was detected
during passenger profiling at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point, a Latvian citizen entered from the Netherlands, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Armenia, one – of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Jordan and one – of Lebanon were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one – of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
