On Tuesday, December 30, 3 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12046 persons have been stopped this year. 

 

A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 19 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners

 

at the Pāternieki Border Control Point and the Port of Ventspils entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to two citizens of Ukraine and one – of Tajikistan due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 person

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Morocco, who did not have a notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s independent departure from the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons - one citizen of Estonia and one – of Sudan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 7 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Belarus, two – of Russia, two - of Estonia and one – of China.
