On Sunday, December 28, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12030 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with documents of another person was detected
at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point, during the verification of passenger lists, an Iranian citizen entering from Turkey, who presented to border guards a passport of another citizen of Germany, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the concealment of one’s personal identity.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the “Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Great Britain and one – of Venezuela were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document; exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Moldova and one – of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons - two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Lithuania, one – of Ethiopia, one – of Moldova and one – of Somalia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two – of Moldova, two – of Serbia, two - of Uzbekistan, one – of Latvia, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Mongolia and one – of Ireland.
