On Friday, December 26, 5 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12030 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 33 offenders at external borders and within the country. 16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Tajikistan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova , two – of Bulgaria and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, two minor citizens of Latvia, leaving the country for Belarus, who did not have notarized authorization from the other parent for the children to leave the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 6 persons – three citizens of Lithuania, one – of Latvia, one – of Estonia and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Romania, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan.
