On Thursday, December 25, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12025 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point one citizen of Kazakhstan leaving Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Montenegro International Vehicle Insurance Policy, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Romania, due to security reasons. The person was returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of China were detected at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - three citizens of India, two – of Ethiopia, two - of Yemen, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia and one – of Armenia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, two - of Belarus, two – of Moldova, two – of Romania, two – of Serbia, one – of Lithuania, one – of the USA, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Macedonia.
