On Monday, December 22, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12025 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 42 offenders at external borders and within the country. 21 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point one citizen of Moldova entering Latvia with goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Trailer’s Vehicle Registration Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; as well as to four citizens of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 11 foreigners
eight citizens of Uzbekistan, one - of Russia, one – of Belarus and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel to Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - three citizens of Bangladesh, two – of Latvia, one - of Russia, one – of India, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Morocco and one – of Finland.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Latvia, two – of Russia, two - of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Georgia, one – of Moldova and one – of Romania.
