On Monday, December 1, 26 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 11905 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 31 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country. 14 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purposes and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Vietnam, as the foreigner was not in possession valid visa or residence permit; while at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 person
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid for travel Great Britain, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 11 citizens of Belarus, four – of Uzbekistan, two – of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two - of Moldova, one – of Russia, one - Kazakhstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Ukraine.
