On September 3-4 the European Union Delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic organizes a regional meeting devoted to the evaluation of the results achieved implementing the 9th phase of the Border Management in Central Asia Project (BOMCA 9) and the discussions on future development of the Project.

 

The meeting is attended by five Central Asian delegations, representatives of the European Union Delegation to Kyrgyzstan, BOMCA 9 representatives and European Union experts.

General Normunds Garbars, Chief of the State Border Guard, represent the State Border Guard at the meeting.

Within the framework of the event the following activities are foreseen: the discussion between representatives of the BOMCA 9 Project Consortium and European Delegation and experts contracted by the European Commission on the results achieved by BOMCA 9, the meetings of the Heads of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan border authorities.

The Latvian State Border Guard has a leading role in the BOMCA 9 Project Consortium. Under the terms of the BOMCA 9 Project, the Consortium supports initiatives related to strengthening operational cooperation in the Central Asian region.
