In 25-26 August, a high -level meeting of Poland, Lithuania and Latvian Home Affairs took place in Belostok, Poland, centered on issues of strengthening border security and joint action, preventing hybrid threats and illegal migration on the external borders of the European Union. At the meeting, the Latvian delegation was represented by the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Dimitrijs Trofimovs and Chief of the State Border Guard Guntis Pujāts.

The meeting was organized by the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration Cheshlav Mroček, and was also attended by the Vice - Minister Macey Dushchik as well as Lithuanian Home Affairs Vice - Minister Gintars Aliksandravičs . The Polish side was also welcomed by General Robert Bagan, Commander of the State Border Guard, and General Sławomir Klekotka, Commander of the Podlasie Border Guard Command.

On the agenda, issues were discussed on the current migration situation on the Polish -Belarus border, including the tactics used, resources and experience so far. Delegations were presented with Podlas Border Guard Administration Electronic Barrier Supervision Center operation, as well as practical solutions used in border protection.

Later the participants of the visit went to the area of ​​the Polish -Belarus border, where they got acquainted with the operation of the technical and electronic barrier in nature, as well as the planned modernization measures.

At the end of the meeting, representatives of the Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian Home Affairs management agreed on closer cooperation and joint action to stop the migration pressure organized by Russian and Belarusian regimes.
