On Friday, December 20, a ceremony was held at the Riga Passenger Terminal for the acceptance of the newly acquired aircrafts and sea patrol boats of the State Border Guard.
During the event, the State Border Guard aircrafts were demonstrated as part of the Internal Security Fund Project - two "Agusta 109E Power" two-engine helicopters and two new AW 119 Kx single-engine light helicopters, as well as three newly acquired coastal patrol boats.
The participants watched the Blessing Ceremony for the patrol boats flags, as well as became witnesses to the event of granting by the State Border Guard the symbolic words to the aircrafts of the State Border Guard: "Vidzeme", "Zemgale", "Kurzeme" and "Latgale".
The event was attended by Minister of the Interior Sandis Ģirģens, State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Dimitrijs Trofimovs, Italian Ambassador to Latvia Sebastiano Fulci, Heads of Interior Services and cooperation authorities, as well as the representatives of suppliers of the newly acquired machines "Leonardo - Societá per azoni" and company "Alunaut Marine".
