On Friday, August 24 more than 80 000 cigarettes with Belarus excise stamps were seized in Daugavpils.

 

Having checked the information about the illicit movement of excise goods the State Border Guard officials stopped a car Volvo S80 in Daugavpils, driving by a man, year of birth - 1992. In the car passenger compartment and luggage compartment they found 8 packages wrapped in black plastic film.

In total, the border guards seized 80 200 cigarettes "NZ Gold super slim" and 1 000 cigarettes "Minsk" with Belarusian excise stamps.

After a short time, a man born in 1997, came to the above-mentioned car and he was detained on suspicion of illegal activities with excise goods.

Criminal proceedings were initiated for illicit storage, movement (transportation) of tobacco products in a group of persons by advance conspiracy. Non-custodial security measures were applied to the persons.
