On January 25, 2021 in Krāslava Municipality border guards seized more than 20 000 smuggled cigarettes.
Border guards of the Daugavpils Board of the State Border Guard, checking information on illegal movement of cigarettes, in Ūdrīši Parish, Kraslava Municipality, in the territory of the Krāslava Railway Station found five packs of “Premjer” cigarettes that were hidden in the cargo of chips in a train wagon.
In total, border guards seized 24 980 "Premjer" cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps.
Criminal proceedings were initiated pursuant to Article 221(1) of the Criminal Law (regarding the illicit manufacture (production) of tobacco products, storage, movement (transportation) or disposal of tobacco products, if it has been committed on a significant scale.
