At Alūksnes County, State Border Guard officials was removed 80,000 smuggled cigarettes, on 26-27 July night.
Carrying out state border surveillance, the State Border Guard officials At Alūksnes County, Pededzes parish approximately 1.5 kilometers of the state boar, buy the river Šepica detected four persons which was carrying black bundles with smuggled cigarettes. Seeing the border guards persons started to run a way and disappeared in the forest thicket.
With the State Police officials at place of event was removed 80.000 cigarettes "NZ10"with Belorussian excise stamps and with one night vision device.
On smuggling on a significant scale, if that did person group by prior arrangement, then was started a criminal proceedings by Criminal Law 190. Article second part.
Further procedural steps will be taken by the State Revenue Service, Tax and Customs Police.
