During the period of May 5-9, border guards detected five persons, who presented to the border guards Covid-19 tests do not corresponding to the samples available to the State Border Guard.

On Wednesday, May 5, at the Riga Airport Border Control Point one Latvian citizen with forged Covid-19 test, entered from London, was detected; while one Ukrainian citizen with forged Covid-19 test was detected in Ainaži during immigration control on the highway A1.

On Thursday, May 6, while conducting immigration control on the highway A11, three Latvian citizens were detected in the Rucava Parish of the Rucava Municipality, who presented to border guards Covid-19 tests do not corresponding to the samples available to the State Border Guard.

One Latvian citizen was fined according to Section 3(1) of the Law on Administrative Penalties for Offences in the Field of Administration, Public Order, and Use of the Official Language, with 680 euros, while three more Latvian and one Ukrainian citizens - with 500 euros.

At the Riga Airport Border Control Point: on May 7 - one Latvian citizen entered from Dublin, on May 8 - one Swedish citizen entered from Kiev, as well as one Latvian citizen entered from Istanbul and one from Minsk, and on May 9 – one Latvian citizen entered from London, all with fake Covid-19 tests were detected. Also, on May 7 during the immigration control on the highway A11 in the Rucava Parish of the Rucava Municipality three Lithuanian citizens, but on May 8 - one Lithuanian citizen, with fake Covid-19 tests were detected.

Two Latvian citizens were fined, according to Section 3(1) of the Law on Administrative Penalties for Offences in the Field of Administration, Public Order, and Use of the Official Language, with 680 euros; while four Lithuanian citizens - with 500 euros. Administrative proceedings were initiated against two Latvian and one Swedish citizens.

In total, the border guards have already detected 70 persons, who presented fake Covid-19 tests do not corresponding to the samples available to the State Border Guard.
