On Friday, June 29, the officials of the State Border Guard detained a citizen of Armenia, born in 1978, who without authorisation crossed the state border after the refusal of entry.

At the Terehova Border Control Point the citizen of Armenia, who was up to enter Latvia from Russia by car Ford Fiesta, was refused entry into Latvia as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document (the person presented a copy of a passport of the Armenian citizen) and valid residence permit.

Pursuant to Article 1941 of the LAVC a fine in an amount EUR 200 was imposed on the person for violation of the regime for the state border strip, the borderland and border area or border crossing points.

Despite the refusal of entry, the man disobeyed the legal requirements of the border guards and (driving between the cargo and passenger car barriers) entered the country illegally.
Without delay the searching for the car and the person was launched. As a result, the wanted car and its driver were stoped in the vicinity of Horoschevo village.

The criminal proceedings were initiated for illegal crossing of the state border using a vehicle. The person was detained and placed in the State Police Short-term Detention Centre.
