On Wednesday, September 5 within the framework of the joint operation "Kordon" the border guards for deliberate illegal crossing of the state border detain 10 people in Pasiene Parish of Zilupe District.
The officials of the Ludza Board of the State Border Guard, carrying out their duties, detected 10 citizens of Vietnam in Pasiene Parish of Zilupe District, who had illegally crossed the border between Russia and Latvia.
The offenders were returned to the officials of the competent authorities of the Russian Federation in accordance with the procedures specified in the intergovernmental agreements.
It should be noted that, this year 150 third-country nationals, illegally crossed the state border, were detained; among them 124 are Vietnamese citizens. While in 2017, 104 third-country nationals were detained for intentional crossing of the "green" border, among them the prevailing border violators (61) were Vietnamese citizens.
