Saturday, August 8, 67 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9389 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country. 17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
3 foreigners with forged documents were detected
while carrying out immigration control, in the South Kurzeme Region, one citizen of Somalia, who presented to border guards a forged Greek Identity Card, was detected; while at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Guinea, who presented to border guards a forged Guinean Passport and a forged French Residence Permit, as well as one citizen of Uzbekistan, who presented to border guards a forged French Visa, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for using forged documents.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Tajikistan, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to three citizens of Russia and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
three citizens of Uzbekistan and one – of Kazakhstan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Turkey, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Lithuania and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Latvia, three - of Belarus, two – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Moldova, one – of Portugal, one – of Serbia and one – of Vanuatu.
