On Tuesday, August 5, 22 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8157 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country. 18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; as well as to one citizen of Ukraine, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Russia and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid travel document, was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the country was refused to 3 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point three minor citizens of Latvia, leaving the country for Montenegro, who did not have a notarized power of attorney from at least one parent for the child to leave the country independently, was detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Latvia, one – of Russia and one - of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 24 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three - of Latvia, three - of Moldova, three – of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, one – of Estonia, one – of Bulgaria, one – of France, one – of Mongolia, one – of Romania and one – of Ukraine.
