Sunday, August 30, 40 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10414 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 27 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders. Among them: entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 foreigner. At the Terehova Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document. The person was returned to the country of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Lithuania and one - of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – two citizens of Russia, two - of Belarus, two – of Moldova, one - of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Israel, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Poland, one of – of Romania, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
