On Sunday, August 3, 25 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8095 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 74 offenders at external borders and within the country. 32 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entered Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan technical inspection certificate, as well as one citizen of Lithuania leaving the country, who presented to border guards a forged Polish Driving License, were detected. The citizen of Uzbekistan was held administratively liable, while criminal proceedings were initiated against the citizen of Lithuania for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document. The persons were returned to countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 18 foreigners
18 citizens of Russia were detected at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by 13 citizens of Russia was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Lithuania, leaving the country for Ireland, who was not in possession of valid travel document, and one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Great Britain, whose travel document was not valid to travel to Great Britain, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 7 persons - four citizens of Estonia, two – of Ukraine and one - of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 35 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 12 citizens of Belarus, five – of Moldova, three – of Estonia, three – of Uzbekistan, three – of China, two – of Kazakhstan, one - of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia and one – of Tajikistan.
