On Monday, August 25, 26 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9036 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 75 offenders at external borders and within the country. 43 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 19 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel document; to one citizen of India, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; to six citizens of Moldova, two – of Romania and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners
seven citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova and one - of Tajikistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by two citizens of Uzbekistan, was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvi
at the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia, who did not have the notarized consent of the parents for the child's departure from the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Russia, one – of Algeria and one – of Morocco.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 27 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – eight citizens of Belarus, six - of Moldova, four - of Latvia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Ukraine, two – of Uzbekistan, one – of France, one – of Serbia and one – of Germany.
