Monday, August 24, 9 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 10152 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 22 offenders at external borders and within the country. 9 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
• entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
• conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Uzbekistan was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by the person was not initiated.
• exit from the country was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Latvia, leaving the country for Serbia, who was not in possession of notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s departure from the country, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Ukraine, one – of Estonia, one – of India and one – of Somalia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 8 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – one citizen of Latvia, one - of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one – of ASV, one - of Kazakhstan, one - of Moldova, one – of Romania and one – of Germany.
