On Sanday, August 24, 11 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9013 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 48 offenders at external borders and within the country. 22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, two citizens of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with goods vehicles and trailers, who presented to border guards forged Uzbekistan Roadworthiness Test Certificates for trailers, were detected. The persons were held administratively liable. The Roadworthiness Test Certificates were seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, two – of Russia, one – of Germany, one – of Great Britain, one – of ukraine and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 6 foreigners
five citizens of Russia and one – of Azerbaijan were detected at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by three citizens of Russia, was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – one citizen of India, one – of Sudan and one – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Moldova, four - of Belarus, two - of Latvia, two – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Australia, one – of Georgia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kuwait, one – of Serbia, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Chile.
