On Tuesday, August 19, 33 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 8792 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 15 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 55 offenders at external borders and within the country. 27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to two citizens of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to two citizens of Germany, to two – of Belarus and one – of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 9 foreigners
seven citizens of Russia, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid travel document, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by six citizens of Russia, was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, seven minor citizens of Latvia, departing for Montenegro, who did not have the notarized consent of at least one parent for the child's independent departure from the country, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons – four citizens of India, two – of Russia, one – of Belarus, one – of Algeria, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Egypt.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, four - of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Russia, one - of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Sweden.
