Wednesday, August 12, 66 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 9675 persons have been stopped this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 23 offenders at external borders and within the country. 13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
2 wanted citizens of Latvia was detained
during immigration control at the Port of Ventspils, one citizen of Latvia entering from Sweden, and at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one non-citizen of Latvia entering from Turkey, who are wanted by the Police, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia one – of Moldova and one – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Russia and one - of Kazakhstan were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid travel document). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation, committed by one citizen of Russia was not initiated. The other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one minor citizen of Turkey (female) departing for Russia, who was not in possession of notarized consent from at least one parent for the child’s departure from the country, was detected. The person was prohibited to leave the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 persons – one citizen of Pakistan and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 8 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Belarus, one – of Russia, one – of Estonia, one – of Italy, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one – of Ukraine.
