On Tuesday, April 29, 73 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1947 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country. 11 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan entering Latvia with a heavy goods vehicle and a trailer, who presented to border guards forged Kyrgyzstan Roadworthiness Test Certificates, as well as at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan entering Latvia with a heavy goods vehicle and a trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Uzbekistan Driving Licence, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized in the course of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as to two citizens of Belarus, one – of Russia and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
two citizens of Russia were detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by the persons was not initiated.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons – four citizens of Latvia, three – of Finland, two – of Yemen, one – of Morocco, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Latvia, three – of Belarus, one – of Estonia, one – of Croatia, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one - of Moldova and one – of Serbia.
