On Sunday, April 27, 35 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1839 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan entered Latvia, who presented to border guards a forged Kyrgyzstan Roadworthiness Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 5 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Grebņeva Border Control Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia and two – of Belarus due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Russia and one - of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for five persons - three citizens of Lithuania and one - of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - seven citizens of Lithuania, three - of Belarus, three – of Moldova, two – of Latvia, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine, one - of Uzbekistan and one – of the Czech Republic.
