On Saturday, April 26, 70 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 1804 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 8 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders. Including the refusal of entry into Latvia for six foreigners. At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Belarus, one – of Moldova and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Ukraine and one – of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 25 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, five - of Moldova, four – of Russia, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Armenia, one – of Georgia, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
